Editor’s note: There was lots of promise at the end of the fall semester and the beginning of the spring semester that students were considering militant action about such things as the abysmal economy, the war (Iraq/Afghanistan) and rising tuition costs. By mid spring not a discordant sound was heard. Why? Who knows.

But some/many showed up at Union Square last night [ according to news media reports, several hundred folks] to protest the California Supreme Court decision to uphold the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.
