Uncertainty about one\u2019s career can create stress. There has been a 20 percent increase in college students complaining about stress, according to a 2018 story posted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stress.org\/college-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Institute of Stress<\/a>. Stress can drive college students to consider suicide a solution, according to other reports. \u201cCollege can be so stressful that many students think about killing themselves, and some even try,\u201d according to an article written by Steven Rienberg, a health reporter for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/depression\/news\/20180910\/1-in-5-college-students-stressed-consider-suicide#1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> WebMD.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve started to do yoga to help with the potential stress of class,\u201d said Brittany \u202fBucceri, 21, a developmental psychology major. She also said she\u202f already has her future plans in \u202fview.\u202f Sitting in an empty classroom on the fifth\u202ffloor of the North Building, \u202fBucceri\u202f spoke of her\u202f summer of travel and leisure. She \u202fvacationed in Montreal, St. Thomas, Boston\u202fand spent quality time with friends and family.\u202f \u201cSchool drained me,\u202f so summer\u202fwas a nice break,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Bucceri also volunteered at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nychealthandhospitals.org\/bellevue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bellevue Hospital<\/a>, 462 First Avenue, lower Manhattan, where she\u202fworked helping \u202fto normalize the hospital experiences for children with medical issues. She read to them and played games. The experience was \u201cvery rewarding,\u201d\u202fsaid \u202fBucceri, and\u202fprovided\u202fmore \u201chands-on experience.\u201d Bucceri wants to study for a\u202fdoctorate in clinical psychology and to work with children, especially.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>[<a href=\"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/what-is-osteopathic-medicine\/benefits-of-yoga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Health Benefits of Yoga<\/a>]<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In the tenth-floor stairwell in the North Building, 21-year-old senior Jasmeet Nanrag, sitting in the corner with her cell phone, smiled as this reporter, notebook in hand, approached. Nanrag moved to Kew Gardens, Queens, from India five years ago. \u201cIt was all very brand new, the culture was different and learning the slang was hard,\u201d she said. Nanrag is a computer science major and spent her summer working at a high school in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>She tutored children with special needs, teaching math, getting to work closely with them one on one. Nanrag dreams of becoming a computer science professor. \u201cBeing a professor will give me the chance to explore myself and research,\u201d she said. As for her short-term goals for this school year, \u201cI want to complete my degree and see what happens,\u201d said Nanrag.<\/p>\n<p>On the seventh floor sky bridge,\u202fShannon Dalrymple, a 21-year-old senior, talked about an exhausting summer. She interned at <a href=\"http:\/\/Island https:\/\/www.cb8m.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Community Board 8<\/a> on 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. It\u00a0 covers the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island. Asked about the \u202fbeginning of the school year, Dalrymple \u202fwas\u202fblas\u00e9. \u201cI\u2019m not nervous, also not excited, I\u2019m pretty neutral to it,\u201d\u202f she said.<\/p>\n<p>Dalrymple said she may enroll in graduate school for library sciences in New York City.
