The premiere of God Committee saw stars Julia Stiles, Kelsey Grammer and Colman Domingo walk the red carpet, alongside screenings of documentaries, shorts, and films.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paris Hilton <\/strong>arrived in style to Hudson Yards part of Tribeca\u2019s 2020 Official Selection: Features. Hilton was joined on the red carpet by sister, <strong>Nicky Hilton<\/strong>, both wearing their signature sunglasses as the carpet and screening area was quickly swarmed with fans trying to get a glimpse or photo of the sisters. Paris grabbed fianc\u00e9, <strong>Carter Reum<\/strong>, to walk the carpet alongside her, which he noted to photographers was the first time he had ever walked one with her.<\/p>\n<p>Director <strong>Alexandra Dean<\/strong> walked the carpet and introduced the documentary, which is available to stream on Youtube Originals. Paris watched the screening with the audience and joined Alexandra on stage after for the Q&amp;A, which featured this sweet moment:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carter Reum was having fun with the fans too, pretending to be one himself:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Carter:<\/strong> \u201cHow do you think she looks?\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Fans:<\/strong> \u201cFlawless, just amazing\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Carter:<\/strong> \u201cYeah, that\u2019s what I told her when she walked out of the bedroom.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>*Fans Realizing*<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Carter:<\/strong> \u201cThat\u2019s my fianc\u00e9\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julia Stiles<\/strong>, <strong>Kelsey Grammer <\/strong>and <strong>Colman Domingo<\/strong> stunned on the red carpet for the premiere of <strong><em>God Committee <\/em><\/strong>with Julia showing off a beautiful backless dress. They were joined by additional cast members <strong>Peter Kim <\/strong>and <strong>Dan Hedaya, <\/strong>as well as producers <strong>Molly Conners<\/strong>, <strong>Amanda Bowers<\/strong>, <strong>Jonathan Rubenstein<\/strong>, <strong>Harris Gurny<\/strong>, <strong>Vincent Morano<\/strong> and <strong>Wendy Federman<\/strong>. The feature film follows the moral dilemma of members from an organ transplant committee who must decide which patient to save when a donor heart unexpectedly arrives at a New York hospital. Intro remarks were given by writer\/director <strong>Austin Stark <\/strong>and guest of the film, <strong>Dr. Alin Gragossian<\/strong>, who revealed that she was also a transplant beneficiary and honored to be able to use her voice to bring a platform to the importance of organ donation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director Karam Gill, Producers Daniel Malikyar, Andrew Primavera, <\/strong>and <strong>Peter Scalettar<\/strong> joined the screening of their documentary, <strong><em>Ice Cold<\/em><\/strong>, which explores the aspirational and often misunderstood relationship between rappers and what\u2019s inside their jewelry cases. Through firsthand insight from artists old (such as <strong>Rakim <\/strong>and <strong>Talib Kweli<\/strong>) and new (<strong>A$AP Ferg<\/strong>, <strong>Lil Yachty<\/strong>, <strong>Migos<\/strong> and more), as well as their most revered jewelry designers (<strong>TV Johnny,<\/strong> <strong>Ben Baller<\/strong>), discuss what is going on beneath the surface of these high-end purchases.<\/p>\n<p>Co-directors, husband and wife team, and Tribeca alums, <strong>Daryl Wein <\/strong>and <strong>Zoe Lister-Jones<\/strong>, were joined on the red carpet by actress <strong>Cailee Spaeny <\/strong>who co-stars alongside Lister-Jones in the apocalyptic film <strong> <em>How it Ends<\/em><\/strong>. Shot and edited during lock down in Los Angeles over a six month period, the film features a who\u2019s who of comedic favorites, including <strong>Fred Armisen<\/strong>, <strong>Olivia Wilde<\/strong>, <strong>Nick Kroll<\/strong>, and <strong>Lamorne Morris<\/strong>, delivering a hilarious and poignantly resonant comedy for our collective ages. Wein and Lister-Jones both got emotional during the Q&amp;A after the film when asked what it was like to be back in NYC again, citing how the film explores the feelings of despair and uncertainty as a means to process the emotions of the pandemic creatively.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong><em>Bernstein&#8217;s Wall<\/em><\/strong>, Director <strong>Douglas Tirola <\/strong>mines a rich trove of interviews, television appearances, home movie footage, photos and letters featuring the legendary composer, <strong>Leonard Bernstein.<\/strong> Following the screening, Tirola participated in a Q&amp;A at the Waterfront at Brookfield place.<\/p>\n<p>Director <strong>Bo McGuire, <\/strong>the queer son of a Waffle House cook and his third-shift waitress in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, took the stage tonight at Hudson Yards for the World Premiere of his documentary <strong><em>Socks on Fire<\/em>. <\/strong>Friends, family and filmmakers all came out to support the film. Ahead of the screening, incredible drag performances from <strong>Rock M. Sakura (RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race S12), Chiquitita <\/strong>and <strong>Xunami Muse<\/strong> had the crowd multiplying around the stage, all cheering, on their feet dancing and waving rainbow glow sticks for the queens.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s screening of short films included<em> <strong>The Difference, My Father the Mover, Welcome to a Bright White Limbo, When I Write It, <\/strong><\/em>and<strong> <em>Motorcycle Drive By<\/em><\/strong>, which focused on Third Eye Blind frontman <strong>Stephan Jenkins<\/strong>, who gave an acoustic performance following the screening.\u00a0 After Jenkin\u2019s performance, he was joined on stage by the directors of some of the films including<strong> David Wexler, Julia Jansch, and BriGuel (Brianne Berkson &amp; Miguel Gluckstern),<\/strong> for a Q&amp;A moderated by<strong> Sharon Badal<\/strong>, Tribeca\u2019s Vice President of Filmmaker Relations and Shorts Programming.<\/p>\n<p>A special screening of <strong>Martin Scorsese\u2019s <\/strong>film <strong><em>Raging Bull<\/em> <\/strong>closed out the festival at Battery Park tonight, complete with an introduction by Jane Rosenthal and a 30 minute virtual interview with Scorsese and <strong>Robert De Niro<\/strong>, led by <strong>Leonardo Dicaprio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last day of Tribeca Festival 2021: Hosted a screening of Paris Hilton\u2019s documentary This is Paris with Paris in attendance for the YouTube Original, followed by a Q&#038;A with Paris and director Alexandra Dean.
