The truck\u2019s headlights flash, giving the strong impression that a rendezvous (of a stealthy nature) is in the works.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20568\" style=\"width: 254px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20568\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-20568\" src=\"https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/jara-244x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"244\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/jara-244x300.jpg 244w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/jara-260x320.jpg 260w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/jara-160x197.jpg 160w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/jara.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-20568\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kara<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The trucker, Benji, played by veteran actor Kent McQuaird, and Kara, played by veteran actress Karine Gonthier-Hyndma, exchange a pithy pre-arrange ditty of a code that one might hear in a scene of an espionage thriller as two spies meeting for the first time size each other up.<\/p>\n<p><em>Benji \u2013 \u201cWhat did you eat this morning?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Kara \u2013 \u201cWater lilies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She hands over a wad of bills and is directed to the back of the truck where, viola, the opened reefer door reveals butchered beef dangling from hooks to camouflage a mobile abortion clinic with medically aborting accoutrements \u2013 reduced to bare medical essentials, of course. A \u00a0taciturn, no nonsense doctor, Dre Hubert, played by veteran actress Chantal Baril, runs the mobile operation.<\/p>\n<p>They all live and work in an unidentified Spanish-speaking country where abortions are illegal, and the punishment is ruthlessly Draconian. Kara is desperate to get one, nevertheless, and that desperation has driven her to take risks that could get her imprisoned if not dead on the slab in the mobile clinic.<\/p>\n<p>She is willing to take any risk, face any peril \u2013 and she does in Director Marianne Farley\u2019s foreboding, five-star edge-of-the-seat thriller.<\/p>\n<p>FRIMAS reflects synchronistically on the brouhaha occurring in the United States because of the infamous Texas&#8217;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/legiscan.com\/TX\/text\/SB8\/id\/2395961\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TX SB8 legislation.<\/a> The timing couldn&#8217;t be better than if it had been planned. For weeks, it&#8217;s been 24\/7 breaking news about TX SB8 and reference after to reference to its possible effects on Roe v. Wade with protests in the streets and legal wranglings in state and federal courts and as well as partisan wrangling in state and federal legislatures.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KvMpKnI7xkA\" width=\"1000\" height=\"560\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>FRIMAS, eschewing the heated partisan and political arguing, exquisitely captures the essence of TX SB8 and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roe_v._Wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roe v. Wade.<\/a> Constitutional and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/issues\/pages\/whatarehumanrights.aspx\">Universal Human Rights<\/a> are being threaten with evisceration, as witnessed through the attacks on the universal rights of women to their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The greyish dystopian pallor of this movie reminded this reviewer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0087803\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Director Michael Radford\u2019s NINETEEN-EIGHT-FOUR (1984)\u00a0<\/a> FRIMAS seems flushed with dark Orwellian undertones and overtones and is much more menacingly, overall, than NINETEEN-EIGHT-FOUR when it was released.<\/p>\n<p>Director Marianne Farley\u2019s gem is so stark and exquisitely timely it caused this reviewer to recall the doomsaying and soothsaying clamor of many years ago when an Hollywood disaster movie was being credited with being unbelievably prophetic. That is, 12 days after the release of THE CHINA SYNDROME, March 16, 1979, the Three Mile Island nuclear accident happened. Nuclear power industry mouthpieces had been hammering the movie for its alleged hogwash attack on the industry \u2013 and then real life erupted during the self-serving lambasting.\u00a0 The incident has been cited as the major cause for the decline in nuclear construction through the 1980s and 1990s. <a href=\"https:\/\/world-nuclear.org\/information-library\/safety-and-security\/safety-of-plants\/three-mile-island-accident.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[World Nuclear Association&#8217;s real world information.]<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>So &#8230;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20588\" src=\"https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic-560x294.jpg 560w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic-260x137.jpg 260w, https:\/\/hunterword.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/frimaspic-160x84.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Is the foreboding but exquisitely made FRIMAS prophetically apocalyptic about human rights in the United States?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gregg W.
