Among the jury for HollyShorts 20th anniversary this year are stars Rosario Dawson, Tyrese Gibson, Metta World Peace, Rosa Salazar and Rachel Brosnahan<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

HollyShorts screenings will take place from August 8-18 at TCL Chinese Theatres,<\/a> 6801 Hollywood Blvd., 3rd Level, Hollywood, CA, 90028. They will be followed by the annual awards gala August 18. More than 6,100 entries, more than 400 films for this year’s anniversary program.<\/p>\n

Last year, the Academy\u00ae granted the festival its 4th OSCAR\u00ae-qualifying award for Documentary Short Film, joining top awards Best Short Film Grand Prize, Best Short Animation and Best Short Live Action. The winners of these awards will be eligible for consideration for a 2025 Academy\u00ae Award.<\/p>\n

The jurors will determine which four will films qualify to be considered for the 2025 edition alongside high profile HollyShorts awards:<\/strong> Adam Rackoff (The Brainwashing of my Dad, Downwind<\/em>), Alex Winter (Zappa, Bill & Ted Face The Music<\/em>), Academy\u00ae Award Winner Alice Doyard, Adrienne Barbeau (Maude, Swamp Thing<\/em>), Danny Pino (Hotel Cocaine, Uni\u00f3n de Reyes<\/em>),\u00a0 David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer, The Suicide Squad<\/em>), Jennice Lee, Deadline\u2019s Joe Utichi, Awards Daily\u2019s Joey Moser, Jon Huertas (This is Us, Castle<\/em>), Josh Hamilton (Reality, The Walking Dead<\/em>), Academy\u00ae Award Nominee Joshua Seftel, Katherine McNamara, (Shadowhunters, The Maze Runner<\/em>), Kalani Dreimanis, IMDB Senior Film Editor Keith Simanton, Lio Tipton (A Friend of the Family, Riddle of Fire<\/em>), Deadline\u2019s Matt Carey, Matthew Modine (The Martini Shot, Hard Miles<\/em>), Michelle Krusiec (A Million Miles Away, Hollywood<\/em>), Academy\u00ae Award Nominee Misan Harriman, Student Academy\u00ae Award Winner Omer Ben-Shachar, Peter Macon (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Orville<\/em>), Rachel Brosnahan (Superman, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/em>), Animation Magazine’s Ramin Zahed, Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel<\/em>), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka, Common Ground<\/em>), Samuel Arnold (Emily in Paris, Expectations<\/em>), Producer and Head of Acquisitions at Flawless AI Ryan Black, BBC\/CNN film expert Sandro Monetti, Sarah Shahi (Red, White & Royal Blue, Sex\/Life<\/em>), Tricia Helfer (Lucifer, Battlestar Galactica<\/em>) and Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious, 1992<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Heading HollyShorts brand new Sports category is NBA Champion Metta World Peace; also judging will be Emmy Award-winning producer Jessica Badawi and NBA Agent Colby Schinto.HollyShorts is devoted to showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe, advancing the careers of filmmakers through screenings, networking events, and various panels and forums. The festival showcases the top short films produced in 40 minutes or less.<\/p>\n

This year’s hybrid celebration of short films will take place in person, with screenings at the world-renowned TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and virtually through the official festival streaming platform, BITPIX.<\/p>\n
