Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Tribeca Festival<\/strong>, presented by OKX, has announced its 2026 feature and short film lineup.<\/h3>\n

Taking place June 3\u201314 in New York City<\/strong>, the Festival will showcase 118 feature films\u2014including a record 103 world premieres\u2014alongside 86 short films. Founded in the aftermath of September 11 on the belief that storytelling unites communities, Tribeca has grown into a global platform for bold storytelling and emerging voices.<\/p>\n

This milestone edition reflects that legacy, bringing together acclaimed filmmakers, breakthrough talent, and major cultural figures for a can’t miss, citywide celebration. The Festival opens Wednesday, June 3 with the previously announced world premiere of Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial VS That\u2019s the Weight of the World) <\/em>directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson<\/strong>, followed by a special performance by Earth, Wind & Fire<\/strong> and The Roots<\/strong>, setting the tone for a celebratory, music-forward festival. Highlights include Carmelo Anthony<\/strong> in Born Melo<\/em>; tennis icons Chris Evert<\/strong> and Martina Navratilova<\/strong> in Chris & Martina: The Final Set<\/em>; and Bob Odenkirk<\/strong> and David Cross<\/strong> in Bob and David Climb Machu Picchu<\/em>. Nostalgia takes center stage as Rider Strong<\/strong>, Danielle Fishel<\/strong>, and Will Friedle<\/strong> reunite for the 30th anniversary of Boy Meets World<\/em> in Doc Meets World<\/em>, marking the final live performance of their hit rewatch podcast and the last stop on their national tour. Comedy legends including Will Ferrell<\/strong>, Maya Rudolph,<\/strong> and Dana Carvey<\/strong> reflect on presidential impressions in Playing POTUS<\/em>, while Mario<\/em> chronicles the life of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

IX XI<\/em>,<\/strong> directed by first-time filmmaker Sean Wilsey<\/strong>, weaves together twelve personal accounts of September 11\u2014a subject close to Tribeca’s founding story. Miss Representation: Rise Up<\/em> is followed by a post-screening conversation with Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, <\/strong>Dr. Safiya Noble<\/strong>, Nina Jankowicz<\/strong>, and Jim Steyer<\/strong>. Art-focused titles include Jean-Michel<\/em>, the first documentary made with the full participation of the Basquiat family, exploring the life of Jean-Michel Basquiat<\/strong>; and Derek<\/strong> and Hayley Hough<\/strong> deliver a special performance following the world premiere of The Symphony of Dance<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Other returning filmmakers include One9<\/strong> (TF \u201814) with Alicia Keys: Girl From Hell’s Kitchen<\/em>; Sam Pollard<\/strong> (TF \u201823) with The Lorraine<\/em>; Sophia Takal<\/strong> (TF \u201816) with Act One<\/em>; Drake Doremus<\/strong> (TF \u201816) with Next Life<\/em>; Haifaa Al Mansour<\/strong> (TF \u201813) with Unidentified<\/em>; and Hugo Ruiz<\/strong> (TF \u201823), winner of Tribeca\u2019s Best New Narrative Director Award, returning with Dante<\/em>. The final selection spans 118 feature films, including 103 world premieres \u2013 the most in Tribeca Festival history \u2013 and represents 143 filmmakers, including 55 first-time directors, across 44 countries. Notably, 48 percent of the films in competition are directed by women and 50 percent by BIPOC filmmakers, underscoring Tribeca’s commitment to championing diverse voices.<\/p>\n

Today, Tribeca also announced its Shorts lineup of 86 titles from 93 filmmakers, including 45 world premieres, across narrative, documentary, animated, and music video categories, one of the most expansive Shorts programs of any major film festival. For 25 years, Tribeca\u2019s Shorts program has been a hub for discovery, giving emerging filmmakers their first platform. New in competition this year, the Best New York Short Award celebrates the stories and storytellers that have defined Tribeca as New York’s Festival. Returning for its second year, the dedicated Shorts Cinema at Spring Studios, the Festival’s hub, continues to expand access and visibility for the next generation of independent filmmakers.<\/p>\n

Highlights also include female-led stories across documentary, such as White Belt<\/em>, a portrait of supermodel Monika \u201cJac\u201d Jagaciak<\/strong>, and the world premiere of Dori Berinstein<\/strong>\u2019s (TF \u201805, \u201808, \u201811) Couture To The Max<\/em>, celebrating ten-year-old fashion designer prodigy Max Alexander<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The shorts lineup touches on themes of activism and social justice, led by Ben Proudfoot<\/strong> (TF \u201819, \u201821, \u201824, \u201825) and Stephen Curry<\/strong>\u2019s The Baddest Speechwriter<\/em> and Dana Nachman<\/strong>\u2019s The Second Life of Freddie Nole<\/em>, while also imagining a sometimes sinister vision of humanity’s future and its relationship with technology, highlighted by the world premiere of Holo<\/em>, directed by Alexander DeSouza<\/strong> and starring Shane West<\/strong> and Zelda Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
