Tribeca Film Festival 2020 Short NO MORE WINGS – Directed by Abraham Adeyemi

Playing in the Don’t Look Back program and in the Narrative Short Competition at Tribeca 2020.

Written & Directed By Abraham Adeyemi

Two lifelong friends meet up at their childhood favourite South London fried chicken shop at a divergent point in their lives. Level-headed Isaac has big news to share with the disenfranchised Jude: He’s bought a house and is moving to East London. Jude does not receive the news well.

The enchanting tale of friendship treads between both past and present as their 15 and 25-year-old selves dine in the chicken shop, showing how the once promising and talented Jude has struggled to fulfil his potential. NO MORE WINGS is a nostalgic love letter to Abraham Adeyemi’s adolescence, fried chicken shops and the noughties. It explores the significance of community, gentrification’s impact on it and whether decisions of the past have irreversible lifelong consequences.
