[The lives of Ana Alvarez, a single mother from Nicaragua living in an Indiana small town, and her teenage daughter, Izzy, are disrupted because of a routine check leads to a deportation order for Ana – but not Izzy, who has just been accepted to Indiana University, a dream that becomes a nightmare when she learns that because of her immigration status she will not qualify for the needed scholarships or federal aid.
