CURVE, Tribeca Film Festival Review

Uh oh!

Director Tim Egan’s superbly nightmarish 11-minute cinematic nouvella resonated on all those levels where fear and panic can reign. In my gut. In my mind. In my soul.

She’s inches away from certain death. How the hell did she get there? Hands and fingers are bloodied each inch she manages to ease back up the slope. But each inch results in more agony. And the sound of her breathing and body moving grated on my nerves. Horrible death awaits her in a majestically scenic place.

How is this going to end? She’s not going to make it. She is going to make it. She’s not going to make it. She is going to make it.

Is this gem by Egan a metaphor for those grave situations that fate can throw our way? Was he inspired by Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone?
