The Film Lab(TM) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization devoted to the promotion and support of gender and racial parity in film and television programming. Through its public programming, 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition and in-house entertainment production arm, AAFL-TV, it ensures that stories and voices too often silenced in mainstream media are heard, not just as whispers, but as shouts to the world.

72 Hour Shoot Out Competitions are designed to promote gender and ethnic diversity in media and empower emerging female filmmakers and filmmakers of color, particularly Asian Americans. Judges this year include Marci Phillips (VP, Casting for ABC Primetime), Antony Wong (Program Coordinator at the Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI), of The City University of New York (CUNY)), Daniel Sakaya of CrossingsTV, and more. – Gregg W.
