Steven LaMorte: Director’s Statement

Thank you. I hope you all had fun this evening. Tonight, instead of doing a long and drawn out Q&A where you listen to me talk, we are instead going to take just a couple of minutes to acknowledge the many amazing artists that help made this movie happen, so I need a list.

I’m going to make it quick. I promise they won’t have to pay me off because I have the microphone. First of all, I’m want to start, I’m going to try to get to everybody super-fast. If I miss you, I’m so sorry. You could find me outside and give me a kick in the ass. All right. Here we go. I want to start by thanking and calling down our producers, Steven Della Salla and Michael Leavy and my wife, Amy Schumacher.

While we all come down, I also want to throw a quick shout out to some of our other producers and executive producers, Jason Snell and Tommy Salas from Reckless Entertainment. We’ll see you where you are. We love you. Of course, Matt Leavy. We love you, man. I also want to call down and introduce you to just some of our amazing cast.

If I call your name, just come on down just so we can say hey to you. Can we please have Jared Johnston? He plays Neil. How about Michael [inaudible]. How about Jared Leavy. Where are you Jared? A briefly censored, he had his eyes covered, but he came back just to the end, Roony Johnson.

How about Charlie [inaudible] Exaggerated the character. How about Pete Kinsell, Jesse Posey. He’s going to prepare a song for you right now. I’m just kidding. Come down.

How about a round of applause for some of our awesome [inaudible]. We love them so much. Most of them, it’s their first time seeing it. We’re all going to have an awkward conversation outside. In the meantime, I would also like to thank anyone else who was in the film, any other actors. If you were on screen, could you stand up right now?

Of course, we have no movie without the crew working long hours, staying up late. They get there before the cast, they stay there after the cast. They curse me in silence and I thank them now. If you worked on this movie, please stand.

You are all awesome. I’m so thankful for each and every one of you. Every single movie that happens that gets done is a miracle. It is a labor of love, of hundreds of awesome, extremely talented, exceptional individuals. I’m so blessed to have them on the boat with me. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This movie doesn’t happen about each and every person I thanked and some people that I didn’t. Thank you for watching this movie.

If you enjoyed it, the best thing you could do is go home and tell somebody, post about it on social media. Tell a friend, grab a friend, drag him to the theater. We are only guaranteed one week, but if people show up Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, we will prove to the studios and to the theaters and to every person on planet Earth that we deserve to be here.

I think independent horror belongs in the theater on the base. Thank you very much. That’s all.
