David Dekle-Hills, Kedar Young and Sumaya Nasir Said They Are Stepping Up to Challenges As Best They Can

Emerging media major David Dekle-Hills, who lives in Howard Beach, Queens, said he experienced a period when he lost passion for his favorite endeavors but eventually brushed off the apathy. Film major Kedar Young, 22, who lives in Yonkers, said he found ways to be productive during the pandemic. Senior Sumaya Nasir, 22, said her friends really have helped her.

DAVID Film Short Review

It’s easy for this reviewer to imagine that everyone in an audience wherever DAVID streams is standing and applauding as this film comes to an end. This film can knock a smile off your face in one shot and immediately return it the next. In DAVE, his first, Director Zach Woods’ deft filmmaking can make you feel that you have to see it more than once.

Beatific and surrealistic, scene-segues of the older Issac & Jude to the younger Issac & Jude and back, glow effervescently, figuratively speaking. These weren’t flashbacks, that was for sure. At the time of the interview, however, the writer-reviewer was fumbling, like a misfiring engine, with questions about what he had seen. The director resolved his dismay.
